Cheltenham Festival 2005

The news has been a bit stale for a while but it's back and with a bang. The Cheltenham Festival, taking place over four days for the first time, is the pinnacle of jumps racing. Over the years many WHAT charges have run and won here. This year is no exception.

On the first day River City was third in the Arkle Challenge Trophy after a valiant run and a fine achievement for Noel Chance and his team at Berkeley House.

On day two Nicky Henderson sent home the first and second horses in  the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap when Juveigneur and Lord of the River obliged in fine style. Earlier in the day Trabolgan also trained at Seven Barrows won the Sun Alliance Chase

Day three saw the Mark Bradstock trained King Harald win the Jewson Novices Handicap Chase in a race with Sleep Bal, Captain Corelli, Copsale Lad and Eric's Charm all WHAT charges further down the field. In the Daily Telegraph Festival Trophy Fondmort was just headed into second place after an extraordinary display of superb jumping.

All in all the Festival was a great event for the Lambourn contingent.

Shooting Times March 2002

Ever the poser Lynda managed to force herself into the pages of Shooting Times mid-March edition treating a working Springer Spaniel. Some people will do anything for publicity!

Cheltenham National Hunt Festival

After a Foot & Mouth imposed hiatus, National Hunt Racing supreme event took place in early March. At least twenty-five of the runners were chiropractic patients of one or other of the WHAT Team a comment on how valuable the trainers find chiropractic services for their horses. Manipulation is widely used in racing to help maintain health and prevent injury and has been since the days of the great Mill House.

Crufts 2002

The McTimoney Chiropractic Association was again represented at this most prestigious of dog shows. This year the WHAT Team's own dogs were the subject of a small photo caption competition which generated a certain amount of amusement amongst the many visitors. Most of these were surprised to know that chiropractic was also available for their animals. We were also visited by many current patients and their owners; some were showing their dogs most of which receive regular chiropractic care. A great time was had by all!

Horse Magazine mentions McTimoney Chiropractic - briefly

The January 2002 issue of Horse Magazine has an article on Arthritis in horses and the holistic approach to treatment and maintenance. As usual manipulation gets little coverage despite its overwhelming importance in the treatment of such musculo-skeletal imbalances. Still at least a WHAT team member gets a brief mention in one case history - some day chiropractic will achieve the recognition it deserves!

McTimoney Chiropractic Helps British Dressage in Europe

Laura Richardson with her talented stallion Millenium returned from a visit to the European Dressage Championships in Germany where they represented Great Britain. Millenium, Max to his friends, has benefitted from chiropractic maintenance and he and Laura have returned having achieved 22nd place in the Championships.
Laura, the youngest team member at 25 said " It has been the most unbelievable experience. Millenium just grew in the atmosphere and felt about 19hh - it's the most amazing feeling to ride a horse like him."

Henriette Andersen Dominates the Midlands Championships

In the very competitive Midlands Dressage Championships in August. Henriette Anderson, who uses the services of a McTimoney Animal chiropractor on her horses regularly as a preventative measure, dominated the competition.
